Design Requirements
Pavement Marking: Paving done adjacent to a fire hydrant shall include the addition of a blue double sided reflectorized raised pavement marker in the roadway at the location shown in "Typical Fire Hydrant Location Pavement Markers". Detailed specifications for the pavement markers can be found in the Washington State Department of Transportation Standard Specification for Bridge and Road Construction, Sections 8-09 & 9-21.
