Furnish heaters conforming to requirements of ANSI Z83.19/CAS 2.35 and vented type. Vented heaters must be vented to the outside atmosphere. Heater style must be tubular type. Reflector shape may be as indicated by the manufacturer. Installation of direct fire IR heaters requires written approval by the DPW Mechanical System Manager. |

Infrared heaters with a heating input greater than 40 MBh shall be controlled by a standalone infrared heating control system or direct digital control (DDC) system. Individual black bulb sensors shall be installed in the space for each heater with a direct line-of-sight to the infrared heater being controlled. The control system shall have a set point range of 40 to 75 degrees F. No temperature adjustability shall be made available in the space. Control wiring required to complete the space temperature control system shall be included. |
