2.1 MATERIALS |
Make selections to comply with federal recycled content requirements (https://sftool.gov/greenprocurement/green-products/16/roadway-construction/29/cement-concrete/0). If specifying a product not meeting the federal minimum recycled content requirement, submit valid justification for exception on HJB Form 225, per the instructions on the form. Note that ground granulated blast furnace slag likely surpasses coal derivatives such as fly ash, cenospheres, and silica fume in meeting environmentally preferable purchasing guidance referenced at FAR Part 23.7 and available at https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2015-09/documents/finaleppguidance.pdf. |
