Paragraph # and Title (if any) Note to Designer Change Text

The UFGS deleted this section in 2019 and replaced it with a revised 03 30 00 CAST-IN-PLACE CONCRETE.  Only use this section for legacy contracts that have the older 03 30 00.00 10 already incorporated in the umbrella contract specifications.  For other contracts, including all new contracts, use 03 30 00.

1.5 Submittals If 01 33 29 is not incorporated in the specifications, change reference to 01 33 29 in this section to instead say 01 57 19 TEMPORARY ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS and ensure the additional sustainable acquisition language at paragraphs 1.3 and 1.15 of 01 57 19 is included within that section.

1.5 Submittals

Add the following under the "SD-01 Pre-Construction Submittals" and "SD-11 Closeout Submittals" sections, as applicable based on project scope:
Concrete and Cement (Recycled Content); S

Joint Sealants (VOC Content); S
2.2 Cementitious Materials Make selections to comply with federal recycled content requirements (https://sftool.gov/greenprocurement/green-products/16/roadway-construction/29/cement-concrete/0).  If specifying a product not meeting the federal minimum recycled content requirement, submit valid justification for exception on HJB Form 225, per the instructions on the form. Note that ground granulated blast furnace slag likely surpasses coal derivatives such as fly ash, cenospheres, and silica fume in meeting environmentally preferable purchasing guidance referenced at FAR Part 23.7 and available at https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2015-09/documents/finaleppguidance.pdf.

If 01 33 29 is not incorporated in the specifications, change references to 01 33 29 in this section to instead say 01 57 19 TEMPORARY ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS and ensure the additional sustainable acquisition language at paragraphs 1.3 and 1.15 of 01 57 19 is included within that section.

2.10 Perimeter Insulation If 01 33 29 is not incorporated in the specifications, change reference to 01 33 29 in this section to instead say 01 57 19 TEMPORARY ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS and ensure the additional sustainable acquisition language at paragraphs 1.3 and 1.15 of 01 57 19 is included within that section.
